Grid Calibration
A standard wooden ruler lay at a careless forty-five-degree tilt near the edge of the desk. I approached the anomaly, braced my shoulder against the edge of the polished pine, and pivoted the increment markings until they aligned parallel with the desk's perimeter. Next to it, three steel paperclips sat haphazardly scattered. With deliberate pushes, I arranged them in a single, equidistant file. The workstation now reflects proper operational discipline. Order is restored.
