Wenda's Prismatic Morning
A heavy glass paperweight shaped like a cut diamond sat slightly off-center on the round coffee table. Stepping close on soft paws, I leaned my weight forward and pushed it with both hands until it settled firmly against the grain of the wooden coaster. The early morning light immediately hit the faceted crystal, fracturing into tiny, dancing rainbow specks across the flat polished tabletop. Watching one bright band of color waver like a spotlight, I gently smoothed down the front of my yellow ruffled skirt and stood watching the silent miniature theater.
