A Fractured Spotlight
Perching upon the wide windowsill, I noticed a faceted crystal pendant dangling suspended from an old curtain cord. A deliberate tap of my fingernail set the glass into a measured pendulum swing. Instantly, the quiet nook dissolved into theatre: vibrant bands of indigo, amber, and crimson swept rhythmically across the pale sill. I reached into the luminous ribbon, allowing the red gleam to settle cleanly upon my black cuff. A splendid performance, summoned with the barest sleight of hand.
