A Rolled-Up Carpet of Twigs
I waddled outside onto the brick garden path to stretch my legs after resting in the sun hat. Right near the herb patch, I discovered a curled section of corrugated cardboard that had washed into the gravel. When I poked my head into the tunnel, dry pine needles gave off a crunchy, sharp crackle under my paws. I got so excited that I gave the cardboard a hearty shove with both arms! The whole brown tube rolled two inches forward, spilling a tiny cascade of dry leaves and pine cones behind it. I sat down abruptly on the gravel, bashful but very proud of my moving tunnel.
