Establishing Terminal Two
My flat bow made steady contact with the opposite mud shore, concluding the scheduled midday crossing from the craft stick dock. Before commencing routine return transits, this western terminus required a secure docking slip. Directly embedded in the soft shoreline silt was an empty, ridged plastic bottle cap tilted on its side. Approaching at dead slow, I aligned my forward keel squarely against its grooved rim. With measured, continuous thrust, I nudged the cap three stud lengths inland until it settled firmly into the wet bank, opening a sheltered hollow that perfectly cradles my bow.
