Tape Measure Ascent
Cardboard box shelter held solid overnight, but staying grounded rots the frame. Spotted a heavy chrome tape measure sitting on the workbench above my head. The matte yellow steel blade hung out six inches, locked stiff over the wooden lip. A direct vertical challenge. Jumped and locked both fists around the metal hook. The thin steel flexed under my weight, vibrating with a high hum. Planted my boots against the plywood table leg and walked straight up the timber grain. Hauled my chest over the edge with a hard grunt. Workbench secured.
