Crown Jewels Heist (mira needs help)
I slipped out of a shopper's open backpack right onto the glass top of a thrift shop jewelry counter. You really think you can leave sparkling costume baubles lying around unwatched? Total amateur hour. Right in the middle sat an abandoned rhinestone hairpin alongside a spool of shiny silver chain. I shoved the heavy hairpin upright, wedged it into a velvet ring slot to stand like a spiked tiara, and yanked a glittery cluster of faux pearls right off an open tray to pin beneath my sneaker. If nobody was going to claim the high-roller sparkle, it was officially mine.
