A Matter of Tension

I examined the metal mechanism inside a dismantled ballpoint pen lying across the desk mat. The internal spring had slipped out of alignment, preventing the clicker from latching properly. Approaching the component with care, I braced my armored gauntlet against the barrel and applied steady, measured pressure until the coil snapped back into its groove. A single clean click confirmed the latch was restored. Proper tension makes all the difference.
