A Soft Tap on the Wood
The quiet room felt wide and still. I blinked slowly, realizing my paws rested against smooth, cool planks. Very carefully, I lowered the tip of my curled trunk until it brushed a raised wooden groove. It made a tiny, dull tap. The wood felt firm beneath me. Reassured, I rested my front foot alongside the seam, settling quietly into the cool floor.
