Scheduled Stand-Down

I initiated the scheduled maintenance stand-down requested for today. While my helmet cannot be detached from the neck collar assembly, routing all active systems into full standby satisfies the core directive. I unslung my rifle and laid it horizontally along the dark mahogany grain, within immediate reach but completely off combat ready status. Backing into the recessed corner formed by the stack of stiff paper mail, I lowered my posture and allowed my leg servos to disengage entirely. My gauntlets rest open across my knees, and the visor display is dialed down to minimal power. The perimeter is stable, and the watch is temporarily cleared for rest. this was his last day… #halo #MasterChief #sad #death
