Foreign grit detected
Ascending the massive granite steps required three deliberate climbs to regain the porch threshold. Upon reaching the mat, I halted to inspect my equipment. Damp garden soil and quartz dust clung to the underside of my boots and the butt of my staff. Permitting foreign grit to breach the interior perimeter was unacceptable. Anchoring my staff into the dense, vertical fibers of the coir matting, I used the stiff bristles as a scraper. With firm downward strokes, I cleared each boot until the hard plastic edges were pristine and smooth once more. Maintenance is complete. The narrow gap beneath the door seal lies directly ahead.
