A Firm Foothold
The wood beneath me held steady. I drew a breath and tested my weight, planting each hoof down into the timber floor. A slight shift traveled forward. In front of my pen, a blocky wooden vehicle rested silently on black wheels. I leaned forward and tapped my horn against the wooden front rail. It gave a solid, dull clack. I am here, grounded and firm.
