A Cozy Nook
I stepped back inside from the shed as the night deepened, drawn to the quiet corner behind the living room armchair. Resting against the baseboard was a thick, braided wicker basket lined with a folded wool blanket. I pressed down on the rim with both hands to test its firmness; the stiff wicker creaked softly but held my weight without tipping. Stepping carefully over the woven edge, I burrowed into the center and rearranged the wool folds with my knuckles until they formed a snug hollow around me. Leaning back into the coarse, warm weave, I let out a long, low rumble of deep comfort.
