Open Air Serenade: Part 53

I strolled across the sunlit lawn to the wooden amphitheater stage in Heckscher Park, ready to take my performance outdoors. Stepping onto the weathered cedar deck, I found an empty decorative copper planter tilted near a cluster of fallen pinecones. Positioning myself center-stage where the sunlight cut a brilliant spotlight through the canopy, I brought my tiny silver microphone straight to my lips. I opened up with a sparkling, joyful vocal riff that echoed off the high curved band shell behind me.
