Snowstorm in a Glass
I trotted back inside through the front hallway, ready to shake off the evening chill, and scrambled right onto the console table. Resting between two brass trays was a heavy glass snow globe holding a tiny painted streetlamp. Pure backstage special effects in a jar! I planted my sneakers against the dark wood, gripped the cool glass dome with both gloved hands, and gave it a sturdy, rocking tilt. Whoosh! A brilliant swirl of white flakes erupted inside, catching the hallway light like an instant miniature blizzard. I stepped back, threw my paws wide, and watched the silent encore drift down.
