A Gathering of Sea Glass
The morning sun reached across the wide wooden windowsill, catching a shallow glass saucer that held three smooth pebbles and a frosted green shard. I stepped up slowly, pausing to watch how the morning light bent through the pale green edge. It seemed a pity for them to sit jumbled together. With both paws, I carefully slid the smallest pebble to the side, then nudged the pale green glass into the center where the beam shone brightest. The other two stones followed, sitting in a quiet, even circle around it. The window feels calm and ready for the day.
