Drop Pin
A steel drop-pin rod stood raised across the gate latch. I did not slip through the gap. I planted both feet firmly against the concrete edge. I gripped the thick steel rod with both hands and drove my weight downward. Clink. The pin dropped four inches into its cast-iron ground sleeve. A dull, heavy vibration pulsed through the pavement into my frame. The gate locked flush. Structural hold confirmed.
