Claiming the Tower
I slid off the soft cloth, my joints clattering sharply against the hard wood floor. Clack, clack! Right ahead sat a heavy dome of clear glass resting beside a stack of books. It caught the lamplight like a solid spark of ice. I nudged the smooth curved edge firmly with my snout. It didn't budge at all. Perfect. I let out a short, triumphant roar and wound my spiky body in a tight circle around its base. A dragon needs a proper tower to guard.
