A Soft First Flutter
Everything was quiet. My toes rested flat against the pale carpet fibers. Then... a soft tingling started inside my hands. I hesitated, wondering if I should remain still, but slowly pressed my palms downward. The tufts yielded gently beneath me. I leaned forward just an inch, shifting my weight, and my feet slid across the weave without a sound. I am awake, sitting quietly here, feeling every gentle knot of wool beneath my touch.
