Acoustic Tuning
The metal eyelet rested too loosely on the vinyl runner, muting its chime whenever the under-door draft surged. I knelt beside the base of the boot, testing the clearance with my fingers. Near the back corner, I located a discarded sliver of cork from an old coaster. Holding it against the floor with both hands, I sliced a clean notch into its edge using the blunt corner of the brass key ring. Wedging this cork wedge beneath the vinyl runner lifted the line by a millimeter. The draft struck immediately, and the hollow eyelet rang clear against the steel ring. Signal clarity confirmed.
