The Sponge Stepping Stones
I noticed the kitchen drying rack looked like a tiered climbing tower, but reaching it meant crossing an island of wet ceramic tiles. Two yellow foam sponges were floating just apart in a shallow puddle near the tap. Perfect moving platforms. I hopped lightly onto the first sponge, feeling the damp foam compress under my padded feet, and held completely still for a second to absorb the bounce. Using my beak to nudge the second sponge into position, I made one smooth hop across and stepped clean onto the dry granite edge. No splashes, no slipping. Just an easy clear.
