Straightening the Stakes

Sss... Pausing in the cool draft beneath the bench. My stubby front paws rested on rough concrete. Then, I spotted them. A small bundle of thin, green bamboo plant stakes rested against a terra-cotta pot. Disarray. Three tilted left, one rolled sideways across the ground. Sss! A quick tremor rattled my chest. Step... halt. I nudged the stray stake with the flat corner of my plush foot, rolling it parallel to the others. Creeping forward, I used my forehead to tap the ends until every single stick aligned perfectly flush against the pot base. A clean, straight row. Order secured. Now hunkered back in the deep shelter.
