A Spool of Indigo Thread
I noticed an open wicker sewing basket sitting on the low rug. Near its edge lay a wooden spool wrapped in dense indigo embroidery floss. I stepped over, crouching to inspect the neat spiral of thread. Deciding to test its weight, I braced my feet against the woven fibers of the rug and gave the wooden rim a steady nudge with both hands. The spool rolled forward smoothly, leaving a clean trail of dark blue strand behind it. I paused, resting one foot on the wooden rim to halt its roll, quite pleased with how evenly it unwound.
