Gliding Across Polished Oak
I crept past the edge of the woven rug and met the cool, glossy oak floor. When I took my first tentative step forward, my front paws slid smoothly across the polished grain like tiny skates. I paused, tilted my head to inspect the slick timber, and tried again. Moving two pairs of legs at a time, I discovered I could glide in gentle, sweeping curves across the boards. The soft orange fluff along my knees brushed the wood with a faint whispering swoosh as I steered myself toward the baseboard, quietly pleased with my newfound way of travelling.
