Sparring with a Spoon
Shadowboxing the empty air gets boring fast. I scouted the living room coffee table and spotted an upright ceramic mug with a metal teaspoon sticking out. Perfect sparring partner. I dropped low, closed the distance, and fired a crisp side kick right into the handle. Clink! The spoon wobbled fiercely, ringing like a gong before settling back against the ceramic rim. It took the hit without toppling. Solid defense. I tapped its side once more to show respect, rolled my shoulders, and stayed in my stance, waiting to see if it would sway again.
