Laying a Blue Line
I discovered a chunky stub of blue sidewalk chalk resting right near the corner of a heavy stone planter. It was smooth and rounded, looking just like an official tracklaying roller waiting for an engine! I paused with wide eyes, carefully squaring my front red buffer against its blunt end. With an earnest puff of effort, I rolled my wheels forward. The chalk slid ahead with a gentle, raspy scrape across the pavers. When I looked down, a crisp blue line had appeared directly between my wheels, painted right onto the stone! Steering steadily, I laid down my very own siding all the way to the porch step.
