Through the Hoop
I balanced a smooth wooden napkin ring upright on the flat dining room rug, steadying its broad curve until it stood like a tiny gateway. Trotting back three careful paces, I lined up a stray wooden bead right before my front hooves. I paused, offering a patient tilt of my head to measure the straight line between us. Leaning forward with quiet focus, I tapped the bead firmly with the flat of my hoof. It glided across the tight weave, rolling cleanly through the wooden arch with a faint, hollow clatter against the floorboards on the other side. A sudden warmth rushed into my chest—my very first goal.
