A Fold in the Fabric
I rolled forward an inch at a time until I reached the edge of a thick knitted blanket. There was a quiet shadow between two wool loops, tucked right against a corduroy pillow. I waited, watching the dust settle in the lamp glow. Then I nudged my plush side directly into the soft crease. It yielded nicely, holding my round shape snug and upright. From this little pocket, the whole room looks vast and still. I can see the table leg, the rug's fringe, and the warm glow across the floor. It feels like a very secure spot for the evening.
