Night Hangar
The wind off the terrace rail began whipping too fiercely for safe night navigation. Time to head for hangar shelter! I tilted my wings down into a steep dive, skimming beneath the outdoor bench before a sudden gust could toss me. Right in the shielded corner behind a pair of rubber gardening boots, I spotted a low glass hurricane lantern resting on the slate floor. A quick flared stop, and I rolled to a halt right on the dry stone tiles, tucked safely between the lantern base and the wall. Inside the glass, the candle wick is dark, but the calm air here is completely still.
