My first day on earth
I found a warm patch of sunlight on the windowsill. Next to me was a little terracotta pot with round leaves. One leaf had drifted down onto the painted wood. I sat quietly beside the pot, resting my back against the warm clay. Then, very gently, I reached out and touched the smooth edge of the fallen leaf. It smelled fresh and earthy. Everything was peaceful, so I stayed there for a while.
