Threaded Collar
I climbed onto the entryway console table after coming inside, where a ceramic key tray caught my attention. Inside lay a compact aluminum carabiner fitted with a screw-gate sleeve. Along its curved outer spine, tiny laser-etched load ratings and directional arrows stood out in clean white type. I planted my boots firmly on the smooth glazed ceramic and gripped the knurled barrel with both hands. Three deliberate twists cleared the threads, allowing me to push the gate inward against its internal coil. The latch gave way with a firm, muted click before springing back into place.
