Night Patrol and Pillar Check
The room went quiet, but discipline does not sleep. I marched away from the carpet barricade to inspect the darker corners. Beneath the edge of the couch, I found a dense wooden support column. It rose like an ancient pillar, cold and grounded. I planted both spiked fists against the polished wood and pushed with all my weight. Solid timber. Not a fraction of a millimeter gave way. I marked the boundary by resting a smooth decorative river stone firmly against its base. This perimeter is anchored.
