The Fist of Howling Plains
Baz-lug was born during an eclipse, on a night when the sky turned red and the elders said the gods had turned their gaze away from the earth. Born of a warrior lineage, he was raised amidst the drums of war and the flames of conflict. Yet, from a young age, he showed something different: he was not merely ferocious; he was disciplined. He was an orc who thought before he struck, who learned from his enemies, and who did not laugh at pain—he respected it. When Baz-lug had seen thirty winters, he was chosen by a mysterious order: the Ancient Order of the Silent Spear—a group of forgotten warriors who were guardians of ancient warfare techniques, strategy, and the code of martial honor. There, Baz-lug learned the art of the calm before the storm, the value of sacrifice, and the power of silence in battle. During a mission against the Mages of Spearspine, Baz-lug’s right arm was destroyed by a corrosive spell. Anyone else would have died. Not him. He survived, crawling through the mud for days until he reached a forgotten forge inhabited by a solitary dwarf. In exchange for protection, the dwarf forged him a fist of steel—not merely a prosthetic, but a true weapon fused to his arm. With that fist, Baz-lug would shatter helmets and armor alike. But it was the Battle of the Howling Plains that cemented his legend. There, he faced Thrun'Mar—a mountain giant as tall as a tower, who had terrorized the kingdoms for centuries. No army had dared to confront him in open field. Baz-lug did... alone. The fight lasted a day and a night. Baz-lug struck the giant with his steel fist until the creature's bones cracked like dry branches. In the end, he brought it down with a direct blow to the skull, shattering it.
