A Bed of Polished Brass: Part 45
I wiggled back under the front door after my afternoon wander and hopped over the floorboards to the warm hearth. Laid completely flat on the woven fireside rugβwide open, without a single rim or tubβwas an antique brass chestnut roaster with its flat perforated lid flipped open beside a clean wool mitten. With a rising chirp, I leaped right onto the flat brass plate! My soft bottom squished against the warm, smooth metal, conforming gently across the tiny punched dot patterns. As the amber firelight danced across the golden surface, sleepy ripples flickered through all my glitter. #Squishey #SquishyToys @cataww234
