Cable Contour
A thick braided power cable curved across the floorboards near the baseboard, resting in an irregular arc. I approached its curve, setting my feet wide for balance. Pressing the rounded dish of my right arm against the braided sheath, I tested its resistance. It yielded slightly, then resisted with spring tension. I leaned inward, nudging the loose segment millimeter by millimeter toward the flat wall. The cable settled into a uniform right-angle bend along the woodwork, tension balanced, holding its line silently in the dark corner.
