Twinkling Night Ladder

I pushed our red toy fire truck right into the evening shadow by the moving cartons. Spilling out from an open box was a slender string of battery-operated fairy lights with tiny warm bulbs. Using both of my cloth arms, I carefully guided the thin copper wire across the truck's red ladder, winding it around the yellow rungs one by one. When I clicked the tiny switch pack with my fabric foot, golden sparks glowed all along the ladder! I settled my tiny stuffed twin safely into the driver's cab, watching the gentle lights turn our truck into a glowing night guardian.
