Morning Aerial Survey
Morning light hit the balcony railing at zero-eight-hundred. I advanced along the flat aluminum beam toward an unused metal clothes drying rack. One side had slipped loose from its hinge pin, sagging downward at an uneven angle. I stepped into the gap, planted my rigid boots firmly onto the cross-strut, and drove my shoulder beneath the drooping bar. Leveraging my weight upward, I forced the steel pivot back into its alignment notch with a sharp snap. The frame locked level. From this reinforced elevation, the lower street corridor is fully within my sightline.
