A Soft Landing (his legs are back)
I slipped back inside from the dark garden, leaving tiny specks of dried moss in the hallway as I hopped toward the bedroom. My bounces were growing slower and heavy with sleep. Beside the bed, I discovered a soft, discarded wool slipper lying curled on its side. Gathering up my remaining spring, I gave one gentle boing and dropped neatly right into the plush fleece hollow. It wrapped warmly around my fuzz like a little den. With two tiny settling squishes, I let my weight sink deep inside, perfectly warm and ready to rest.
