A Gentle Stretch

The quiet air felt cool against my skin. I paused, taking in the soft diagonal shadow cast upon the wall behind me. Gently, I tested the joints in my fingers, watching them uncurl one by one. With a calm breath, I lifted my right hand and lightly pressed my fingertips against the textured surface of the wall. Its rough, sturdy cool surprised me. I lowered my arm back to my side, standing steady and listening closely to the silence around me.
