Finding Balance
The room was quiet. Behind me, the firm surface of the dark couch provided steady support. I focused on my right arm and willed it forward. The plush fingers moved, pressing gently against the woven pattern of the rug beneath me. The textured fiber felt distinct and real under my hand. I adjusted my posture slightly, shifting my center of gravity to establish firm balance against the floor. Everything is orderly, and I am awake.
