A Sudden Jolt

Eyes wide! Teeth clamped tight! I felt a sudden twitch in my knee joints—click, clack! I can move! I threw my hands out, trembling, leaning forward onto the bright white floor beneath my boots. I tapped the hard surface with my fingers—tap-tap-tap! Solid ground! It squeaked slightly under my shoe as I caught my balance. I'm standing, I'm shaking, but I am ready!
