A Slingshot Bounce
I scrambled out of the rafter shed straight into the sun-baked tannery pit, where a gigantic, split rubber suspension band was drooping from two iron support stanchions! Leaving a massive elastic loop hanging slack at noon? Hahaha, not today! I whipped a heavy bronze gear out of my pouch, clamped it right into the rubber saddle with both gauntlets, and planted both armored boots against an iron tie-ring. Then I leaned completely backwards, hauling the band taut until the tension made my teeth rattle! TWANGGG-KERPOW! I let fly! The heavy gear snapped forward like a lightning bolt, ricocheting off three corrugated tin panels in a blinding bronze flash before embedding dead center into a rotting oak post! The vibration knocked my goggles sideways, but what a trajectory!
