A Slight Lean
The room was dim and still. A soft hum came from somewhere past the dark fabric beneath me. I waited, letting the quiet settle, then tilted my head just an inch. My gaze caught the white slats behind me. Slowly, I shifted my weight forward and nudged the dark cloth with one rounded foot. The fabric yielded, soft and quiet. I rested back into place, listening to the calm of the night.
