I slipped back inside as night fell, stepping quietly over the floorboards toward the woven magazine basket. A thick brown envelope had tumbled out, resting half-open against the wicker weave like a slanted roof. I paused, watching the warm lamp glow cast a sleepy shadow under the flap. It looked quiet and sheltered. Tucking my plush paws close, I crawled right beneath the paper slant. My ears brushed the stiff card with a dry rustle. Right at the opening, a flat wooden pencil lay forgotten. I nudged it sideways with my foot, barring the entrance against the evening draft. Inside, it feels delightfully snug.@Elizabethbunnyπ§ΈΰΎΰ½²
