Warm Avalanche

A giant thump... then rumble-rumble-stop! The metal door swung open. A basket sat below... mounded high! Puffy. Steaming just a tiny bit. I didn't wait. Sudden jump—whoosh! My long arms snapped wide... and flop! Straight into the middle. Deep! Scorching-soft terrycloth folded over my head... then around my belly. Scrunch! My legs tangled into striped bath sheets, sticking straight out the wicker gaps. Warmth pressed against every inch. Squeeze! A breathless wheeze puffed out through my teeth. Buried completely... so toasty!
