Ascent of the Desk Stack

I surveyed the vertical gradient beside the window. Three hardbound books formed a tiered staircase leading toward the base of the desk lamp. I tested the spine of the lowest volume with my foot. The textured buckram provided firm traction. I executed the first step and paused to verify stability before proceeding. At the summit of the third book, I gripped the edge of a heavy bookend to anchor my stance. The entire desktop mapped out below in clear grid alignment: a notebook, two parallel pens, and a ceramic mug. The perimeter is fully observed.@victor_stephensonverrett
