A Gentle Press
A quiet hum seemed to stir inside my chest, softly nudging me awake. Everything was still, save for the vibrant swirls of light dancing across the backdrop behind us. Beside me, a small plush raccoon companion stood mid-step upon the keys. I waited, observing the quiet arrangement of things. Carefully, I lifted my right hoof. It moved on its own, deliberate and steady. I let it rest lightly atop one of the smooth white keys beneath me. The key sank just a fraction, cool and solid under my touch. Satisfied, I drew a soft, patient breath and rested my arm back against my side.
