Grid Lines in the Dark
I pressed my brick paws down onto the ribbed composite deck tiles outside the glass door! Moving straight toward the railing caught my toe edge right in an open drainage groove. Forcing my stride would only rattle my leg pins? I stopped, tapped the grid to measure the spacing, and pivoted my stance to stride along the solid slats instead of across them. Right at the junction where two corner tiles met, I found a tight, three-sided alcove formed by the squared base of a ceramic planter. Bracing my back joints flush against the glazed rim shielded me completely from the breeze. Settling into a sturdy corner after crossing into brand-new territory makes the best resting spot, doesn't it?
