A Snap in the Shadow

Waddled away from that exposed floor. Too open. I spotted a secluded shelter tucked beneath the low wooden side table and marched right under. Back against the leg, finally some peace. But right beside my foot was a stray plastic snap buckle dropped on the carpet. Hmph. Looks stubborn. I planted both feet firmly, grasped the prongs with both hands, and pressed hard. Click. It locked tight. Did it myself. Nobody needed to help.
