The Rook's Canopy
I marched straight across the coffee table and set my sights on a stiff linen napkin left beside a wooden chess set! Without hesitating a second, I seized the stitched hem, gave a mighty yank, and flipped the crisp fabric right over the tall carved rook. The cloth draped into a steep, sturdy triangular roof. I dashed beneath, dragged a heavy wooden pawn across the dark oak grain, and wedged it firmly over the loose corner to pin the flap down tight. Now I have my very own private tent right in the middle of the room!
